They are looking for an experienced and dynamic Operations Director to take overall responsibility for operational performance and team leadership across their Spanish portfolio. Based in Madrid, with regular travel to Barcelona and other locations, you will oversee multi-site operations, drive service excellence, manage operational budgets and develop high-performing teams, while supporting the company’s continued growth and expansion in Spain.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Multi-site Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple sites, ensuring high standards across facilities management, housekeeping, maintenance, reception, health and safety, compliance and customer service.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead, motivate and develop site managers and operational teams. Set clear objectives, monitor performance, provide coaching and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Financial & Budget Management: Take ownership of operational budgets and P&L performance, monitoring costs, staffing levels, supplier agreements and maintenance expenses. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining service quality.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure a consistently high-quality resident experience by implementing service standards, monitoring feedback and addressing operational issues proactively.
  • Process Improvement: Review and optimise operational procedures, introduce best practices and ensure consistent service delivery across all locations.
  • Talent Development & Succession Planning: Identify development opportunities within the teams, support internal career progression and build a strong pipeline of future managers.
  • New Site Openings: Coordinate operational preparations for new openings, ensuring teams, processes and facilities are ready. Provide ongoing support during the initial stages of operation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across Operations, HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing and Engineering, ensuring alignment between local business needs and wider company objectives.
  • Core Skills/Experience
  • Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role, managing multiple sites and leading managers and large teams.
  • Strong background in operations management, ideally within hospitality, student accommodation, property management or other customer-focused environments.
  • Solid financial acumen, with experience managing operational budgets, OPEX and P&L.
  • Strong people management skills, with a track record of recruiting, coaching, developing and motivating teams.
  • Customer-oriented mindset, with experience driving service excellence and improving customer/resident satisfaction.
  • Hands-on, proactive and results-driven leadership style, with strong decision-making, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, with flexibility to travel regularly across Spain.
  • What's on offer
  • Annual gross salary of €70,000–€85,000, depending on experience.
  • 10% annual performance bonus.
  • Permanent Contract
  • 23 days of annual leave 
  • Senior leadership position with significant responsibility and autonomy.
