What is success fee recruitment and why should I go for it?
Success fee recruitment is a model where agencies charge fees only upon successfully placing a candidate. This approach aligns the agency's incentives with the client's needs, ensuring a focus on finding the best fit.
Benefits include:
- Cost-Effectiveness: You pay only when a candidate is hired, reducing upfront costs.
- Performance-Based: Agencies are incentivized to find high-quality candidates.
- Access to Expertise: Agencies have extensive networks and recruitment expertise.
- Reduced Risk: Financial risk is minimized since you pay only for successful placements.
- Time Savings: Agencies handle the recruitment process, allowing you to focus on your core business.
What is retain search?
For executive-level positions or specialised roles, recruitment agencies may be engaged on a retained basis. In this arrangement, the agency receives a non-refundable fee upfront to exclusively conduct the search for a specific position. The fee is typically a percentage of the anticipated annual salary for the role. The agency then works closely with the client to identify and present suitable candidates for consideration.
Do you offer any guarantees on placements?
Yes, whether we collaborate on a success fee recruitment basis or through a retainer model, we always provide a replacement guarantee. If the candidate leaves within an agreed period, we will find a suitable replacement at no additional cost, ensuring you have peace of mind.
How long does it typically take to fill a position?
The time to fill a position varies depending on the role, market conditions, and candidate availability. However, we generally aim to present a shortlist of qualified candidates within 5-7 business days, and the full process can take anywhere from 15 days to 90 days, depending on the complexity of the role and client feedback.
Can you help with temporary, contract, and permanent placements?
Babel Profiles offers a full range of recruitment services, including temporary, contract, and permanent placements. However, it's important to note that while we handle the recruitment process, the responsibility for employee payroll remains with the client or external employment entities in all cases.

How do recruitment agencies work?
Lots of people wonder how Recruitment Agencies work- here is the process
- An employer approaches the Recruitment Agency looking to fill a job vacancy.
- The Recruitment Consultant spends time with the employer to find out about the company, the job, the company culture etc. so they can understand the employers needs.
- The Recruitment Consultant draws up a job description, searches their databases and contacts, posts job advertisements and actively reaches out to potential candidates to look for suitable applicants.
- The Recruitment Consultant then sorts through the applicants, reviews their CVs and interviews them to find the best match between the applicant and the employer.
- Then they will organise interviews, prepare the interviewees.
- The employers will then make a final decision on who they will hire. If they do not wish to hire any of the interviewees the Recruitment Consultant starts the process again!
The Recruitment Agency only gets paid when/ if the employer chooses an applicant that they have sent over.
I’m a jobseeker. Do I have to pay recruitment agencies?
A recruitment agency is free to use for a job seeker. There is a myth that if you use a recruitment agency to find you a job that they will take a percentage of your salary. The services of a recruitment agency are completely free for candidates and the benefits are enormous. A recruitment consultant can help you position yourself better, give you solid interview advice and give you access to jobs you may not even know about.
Why do job ads on recruitment agencies not show company names?
Candidates who are familiar with recruitment agency job ads may have noticed that they commonly leave out the name of the actual company. There can be a number of reasons behind this. Sometimes this is a client-driven decision because they haven’t communicated internally that they’re hiring yet, or the recruitment agency may have been asked to work in the background and not make it known yet.
The other reason behind it is to eliminate bias on the candidate’s side and to capture a wider audience. As a candidate, you will more than likely have your own opinions about companies or industries and seeing that information on a job spec could turn you off before you even look at the role. Leaving out the company’s names can help you focus on the role itself.
What happens to my data as a candidate?
While each recruitment agency is different, GDPR rules mean that your data should not be kept on file without your permission. At Babel Profiles we treat our candidates’ data with respect. When we put a candidate into the system, they are sent an email informing them of how the data will be used and about our privacy policy.
The data is shared by the candidate and we get permission from them to share it with the client and we keep the candidate informed at all stages.
Why should I use a recruitment agency to find a job?
Using a recruitment agency like Babel Profiles offers several advantages when searching for a job. We have access to exclusive job opportunities that may not be publicly advertised, giving you a wider range of options. Our recruiters act as career partners, matching your skills, experience, and goals with the right roles and providing expert guidance throughout the process. We also help you stand out by offering personalized advice on improving your CV, preparing for interviews, and negotiating job offers.
Will an agency be honest about the bad parts of a role?
At Babel Profiles, transparency is key to building trust with candidates. We believe in being upfront about all aspects of a role, including any potential challenges or downsides, to ensure there are no surprises after you’ve started. By providing a balanced view of the role, including the more difficult aspects, we help you make informed decisions and find a position where you’ll thrive long-term
