Supply Chain & Operations Analyst w/ Native level of Spanish

Would you like to help shape the investment plan of an international company in Barcelona? Are you confident in sustaining a high level of service at the best costs in a merchant business? We need someone determined, analytical, and motivated to deal with supply chain, assets, and finance in this exciting position!

Our client is a well-known company providing industrial gases for the manufacturing sector. From food packaging to eco-buses, their gases improve everything from the quality of our food to the air we breathe. The company has offices all over the world, and in Barcelona, they have a shared service center with over 300 employees from all four corners of the globe spread across three departments: Customer Support, Supplier Service, and Liquid Bulk: Logistics.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sales & Operation Planning process for PG & microbulk segment
  • Generate demand forecast, collect relevant information from Sales and Marketing community to improve the accuracy of the data and documentation on opportunities and vulnerabilities of the unconstrained forecast
  • Evaluate the supply ability to support the demand plan
  • Identify any issues and propose alternative supply plans
  • Generate the investment plan for the next 18 months with the supply team
  • Challenge the teams for increased asset utilization through Europe by transferring asset rather than buying new
  • Document the investment justification, alternative scenarios, gaps and opportunities to be approved by the general manager. Follow-up on agreed actions.
  • Maintain and track performance KPIs of the S&OP process.
  • Act as an internal supply chain consultant
  • Provide operational and commercial analytical support about asset utilization to the sub-regional organizations (commercial, marketing, supply chain, asset)
  • Recommend, develop and implement new processes and tools for improving efficiency
  • Provide input into the Budgeting & Forecasting planning for the business segments (quarterly update)
  • Participate in functional improvements for the tools used in the S&OP and asset optimization processes

Core Skills/experience

  • Engineering degree and/or a business degree
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact and communicate with all levels within the organization including senior management and other functions
  • Strong awareness or experience in budgeting and cost control
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A high degree of numeracy together with the ability to complete complex analytical tasks
  • Knowledge of SAP MM and PP modules will be valued
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Access (VBA knowledge valued)
  • Must be able to operate on own initiative with minimal day to day instruction
