The Senior Planner manages the supply chain and operational activities for a specific product category in order to deliver high product availability and to deliver against set inventory and inventory costs targets.


Main Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the inventory planning and management of a set of products, critically assessing decisions made for risk.  This includes the planning of products using industry-standard supply chain techniques
  • Manage and maintain positive and productive stakeholder relationships across company entities
  • Manage the resolution of risk inventory including aged and non-pristine inventory to drive down financial provisions and minimise Profit and Loss impacts
  • Direct accountability for key metrics of specific vendor set which includes (but is not exclusive to) availability, Days of Stock, Inventory Costs and Line Item Fill Rate
  • Provision of regular management information to internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Be results-driven, applying and aligning with the vendor the agreed inventory strategy and specifics targets set, including sell in/rebate targets where applicable
  • Ensure integrity of data on the system is accurate (including price, lead times, obsolescence and inventory flagging)
  • Own and manage through to completion any ad-hoc projects as defined by the business.

  • Good team player with experience of working in a virtual team
  • Strong inventory management & planning skills with the ability to understand and find continuous improvement areas within the supply chain
  • Ability to consistently meet and overachieve on targets and deadlines
  • High level of credibility with strong influencing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels
  • Proactive mindset
  • Analytical, organised, with the ability to plan & juggle multiple priorities and maintain focus 
  • Good IT skills, particularly in MS Office packages
  • Ability to express complicated and involved information in a concise and articulate manner
  • Ability to identify a problem and find the optimum solution
  • Experience within a Supply Chain environment ideally in high tech, high-value international environment
  • Experience of using a recognised supply chain demand planning tool
  • Experience in SAP would be highly valued
  • Fluent English
