Our client is looking for a Purchasing Director to build and lead the department, guide strategy and optimize operations as the business scales. You will report to the Chief  Operations Officer and work closely with the Founder & Executive Chef and Operations Director.

Main Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the ongoing management and implementation of current and new purchasing processes, with the goal of optimizing supplier performance and reducing costs. 

• Create and implement best practice processes that ensure purchasing procedures meet business objectives and complement operational strategies. 

• Manage supplier relationships whilst negotiating contract terms and conditions to ensure value for money, in keeping with company strategic goals and objectives. 

• Develop supplier feedback and evaluation processes with a view to improving working relationships. 

• Provide leadership to a new department including training and managing team members. 

• Develop KPIs within a departmental strategy to ensure that company goals are met. • Maintain and improve internal and external stakeholder relationships. 

• Recommend solutions for optimizing costs without compromising quality and in response to fluctuations in the market.

• Give input to new technologies that can improve workflows, whilst also improving any current systems. 

• Be responsible for and manage all purchasing and cost-estimating budgets, including preparing the annual budgets and forecasts for the department taking into consideration all customer and legal requirements.

Core Skills/experience

• Entrepreneurial attitude to build a department from the ground up. 

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, 3 years of managing a team  International experience is a plus. 

• Experience with inventory management software. 

• Excellent relationship management skills.

• Experience in negotiating with suppliers. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Results-focused and able to deliver within project timelines. 

• Able to manage budgets with a focus on commercial and financial decisions. 

• High level of English and Spanish. 

• Availability to travel.
